Diego Costa opened the scoring for the Blues against the run of play in the first period, with the visitors upping their game and going close through Oscar in the moments that followed.
But Harry Kane’s skilful, long-range equaliser restored parity – and inspired us to storm into a 3-1 lead before the first half was out.
That input from the England Under-21 international was vital according to centre-half Federico, who also praised our work rate as we registered a memorable 5-3 victory at White Hart Lane.
“It was amazing, brilliant,” beamed the Argentina international after the game. “It was important for us to keep a good attitude and continue to play our game after they got the first goal.
“When you go a goal down against teams like Chelsea it’s always tough, but it was an important moment in the match when we got our first goal back and then it was good for us to continue in this way by scoring more goals.”
Danny Rose, Andros Townsend and Nacer Chadli joined two-goal Harry on the scoresheet and Federico was quick to praise not only them, but the rest of the team for their collective efforts.
“We have very good strikers and attacking midfielders,” he added. “Harry Kane is in a very good moment but it’s not only him – the whole team competed for the full 95 minutes.
“It’s now important for us to continue in this way.”
