Midfielder Kazu signed for Spurs last January on a 12-month agreement and, after an initial stint in our reserve side, made four Premiership appearances towards the end of last season.
The Japanese international then featured strongly in pre-season before a calf injury sustained on the tour to South Africa curtailed his progress in adapting to the English game.
"I have enjoyed it and have had a good time, but it has been a little frustrating for me," reflected Kazu just ahead of his departure.
"Last season I felt I wasn't good enough to play in the Premiership so, this pre-season, I trained very hard, played very well and played in most of the matches - but then got the injury.
"It was a key moment. I was out for two months with the calf injury and it was difficult after that."
Kazu now heads back to J-League outfit Smimizu, but remains determined to one day forge a career in European football.
"I aim to play in Europe and I will not give up on that aim."
We wish Kazu well for the future.
Kazuyuki Toda is set to return toJapan as his loan spell with the club from Smimizu S-Pulse reaches its conclusion.
