Fans turn out in force in South Korea to welcome local hero home

Over 500 fans turned out at Incheon International Airport, South Korea, to welcome a quartet of our players, including local hero Heung-Min Son, during a two-day promotional visit to Seoul as part of the Club’s post-season tour.

Sonny, Kyle Walker, Ben Davies and Kevin Wimmer received a rapturous reception from the crowd, which included members of the official Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Club in South Korea, before posing for photos, signing autographs and answering questions for local media.

The trip to Seoul allows the Club to further engage with local fans, as well as providing a number of touch points to attract new supporters. It also affords an opportunity to engage with existing partners such as AIA and Kumho Tyre, both of whom have a strong presence in South Korea and across Asia.

Speaking at the airport, Sonny said: “It’s amazing to see the reaction of the fans here as we continue to grow our support across Asia.

“It’s always good to spend some time together as a squad at the end of a long, hard season and some of the boys haven’t been to Korea before so it’s a great experience for them.”

The visit takes place in the days leading up to the Club’s exhibition match against Kitchee SC at the Hong Kong National Stadium on Friday, May 26, with the four players joining up with the rest of their team-mates in Hong Kong on Thursday to prepare for our fixture against the domestic league champions.
