Jermain Defoe believes we must take advantage of a ‘rocking’ White Hart Lane and take the game to AC Milan from the off tonight.
The striker is hoping it will be a ‘special night’ but knows any slip-ups could prove costly against the Serie A leaders.
JD is expecting the visitors to be cagey as they look to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit, but is confident our home form, especially in the Champions League this season, can see us through to the quarter-finals.
He said: “The fans are going to be fantastic, the stadium is going to be rocking, so we’ve just got to go out from the first whistle and try and score.
“It’s important to be professional. The Champions League is a little bit slower than the Premier League, so you get slow build up and you’ve just got to keep possession, don’t get sloppy, and just make sure you don’t switch off or you can get punished, especially with the players that they’ve got going forward - Ibrahimovic, Robinho, and Pato.
“I think they will probably sit back and try to hit us on the break - that’s what we did to them. With us being at home, they know we are going to go forward.
“But I’m confident, being at home, that we can hopefully go and win the game. It would make it a special night.”
