Fans pay tribute at the Lane

Posted on 24 October 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

A steady stream of supporters arrived at White Hart Lane throughout Sunday to pay their respects to the late Bill Nicholson.

The Lane will remain open for fans to pop in for a period of reflection and to sign the book of condolence from 8am-8pm all week and until further notice.

Many supporters spent time sitting alone with their thoughts in the lower West Stand after passing through the main gate adorned with scarfs, flags and flowers.

A room has been set aside where four books of condolence have been opened for fans to pen their messages in honour of Bill.

The track in front of the West Stand is also now filling with tributes.

If you are unable to visit the Lane, an online book of condolence is available for you to write your messages by clicking here
