'Fans can be our 12th man'

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle has sent this message directly to the fans: “You can be our 12th man against Chelsea.”

Boss Glenn is desperate for a packed house to get behind our young team as we bid to end our 11-year hoodoo against the Blues — and try to creep into European contention.

You have to go back to February 1990 for the last time we beat the men from Stamford Bridge, a run stretching 21 league games.

But victory on Tuesday night would close the gap on Chelsea, currently sixth in the Premiership, to just three points.

Glenn said: “Sometimes the team has to get the crowd going but the fact it’s a derby against Chelsea, a team we haven’t beaten for a long time and that there are a lot of players in the treatment room makes it vital the crowd gets behind us.

“They can make the twelfth man for us. That’s important. It should be a full house, a good atmosphere and it would be great if they really get behind us, be patient and give the youngsters a chance.

“Those youngsters need lifting. We’ve played a lot of football, it’s our fourth game in nine days and we can’t rest people because we haven’t got the squad. The crowd can really play their part.”

We are 6/4 to win the game and 28/1 to record another 3-2 victory - click for details.
