Stuart Beavon - whose father, also Stuart, made five appearances for us between 1975-1980 - scored twice in the second half to clinch a 3-2 victory for the Oxfordshire outfit against AFC Sudbury from Suffolk.
Almost 9,000 fans witnessed all five goals in a thrilling second half.
Beavon, 21, opened the scoring for Didcot on the half-volley after 55 minutes only for Sudbury's Shane Wardley to level with a fine 25-yard strike.
Wardley went from hero to villain just two minutes later when he inadvertently turned Paul Powell's cross into his own net.
Beavon all-but ended it as a contest with his second and Didcot's third goal from the edge of the box in injury time but Sudbury still had time to pull one back for 3-2 via Neil Calver's penalty.
A familiar Spurs name inspired Didcot Town to victory in the FA Vase Final at the Lane on Saturday.
