Kyle Walker will put his friendship with Ashley Young on hold for 90 minutes at Old Trafford tonight.
The pair were team-mates for the second half of last season as Kyle enjoyed a successful loan spell at Aston Villa.
They will now come face-to-face after Young’s switch to United in the summer and Kyle’s return to Spurs, where he’s now trying to cement his place as first-choice right-back.
“Me and Ash, we still have a bit of banter on the phone,” smiled Kyle, who impressed in our season-opener at Hearts on Thursday night.
“I'll just play it as a normal game. Ash is a friend but when I cross the white line it is a football match and I am here to do a job.
“We get on really well, we had a good understanding at Villa and we still talk off the pitch which is nice but as I said we will treat it like a normal game and I look forward to coming up against him.
“Going to Old Trafford is always a difficult test but the lads are more than up for the occasion. We’re full of confidence and hopefully we can get a result.”
