#ExtraordinarySpurs: Foundation Degree - Reza's story

Mon 20 March 2017, 13:05|Tottenham Hotspur

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation is celebrating a decade of creating opportunities that change lives and today we bring you the latest in a series of features taking a look at some of the Club’s extraordinary yet often unseen work in its community.

Here we meet Reza, who came over from the Seychelles to broaden his knowledge of the game by studying the Foundation Degree, which offers students the opportunity to gain higher level education and professional skills within a Premier League club.

After successfully completing the course he’s now dreaming of managing the Seychelles one day.

Reza said: “I’ve only ever known Premier League football on TV, some 5,000 miles away in the Seychelles, so being at White Hart Lane every day is fantastic and gives you the extra motivation to achieve your goals.

“You wouldn’t get a course anywhere else like this and eventually I’d like to apply my knowledge back home, where football still has a long way to go.”

The Foundation Degree offers students a choice of three courses - Applied Sport and Community Development; Applied Football Coaching and Performance; and HND Stadium and Event Management.

Full-time courses are £6,000 for the current academic year, £3,000 less than most universities, with each course developed in consultation with employers, helping to ensure students gain the skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress straight into employment.
