The Irish striker was snapped up on a deal of up to six years in length, costing up to £7million.
He was introduced to a delighted White Hart Lane crowd on the pitch before the Premiership clash against Southampton.
The Official Spurs Website managed to speak to Robbie just seconds before he was greeted by his new fan club.
Robbie said: "I'm delighted to be here and I'm looking forward to getting out and playing for the club.
"It's a little frustrating standing here in a suit and there's nothing more I'd like than to be out there now.
"It's a big club and Glenn Hoddle has great ambitions. The club has only good things to say and was very positive in what it wanted to do in the long run. That appealed to me and now I'm a Tottenham player.
"The manager is well respected. He wants to do as well as he can and take Tottenham as far as possible.
"We all know that's not going to happen overnight, it all takes time, but I feel sure they will happen.
"I know Doc, Carry, Jamie, Dean Richards, I know a few of the lads well and like I said, I'm looking forward to getting out there with them now."
