Every minute counts for Jan

Jan Vertonghen has played every minute of our Europa League campaign - and he doesn't want it to end in the quarter-finals.

Every minute counts for Jan

The in-form defender - four goals in March, including a header in the home leg against Inter Milan in the Round of 16 - has played 930 minutes in the competition so far.

He would love to go all the way - and that would mean a return to his former club Ajax with the final held at the Amsterdam Arena in May.

"I like the Europa League, from the start I was determined to go as far as possible and now we are in the quarter-finals, I hope we can go all the way," said Jan.

"I’ve never been this far before in any European competition so it’s important for me.

"We've played top-class teams along the way, the likes of Inter, Lazio, Lyon and now Basel have all played Champions League football and are experienced teams in Europe so we’ve had a tough run to get this far.

"Now we have to show we are capable of going all the way to the final."
