EVERTON FOR STARTERS!

Posted on 21 June 2002  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We head to Merseyside for our first Premiership encounter of the new season against Everton on August 17, while our first home game is a repeat of last season when Aston Villa travel to the Lane a week later.

Everton were a much-improved outfit towards the end of last season under new boss David Moyes after flirting with relegation for much of the campaign. We travelled to Goodison Park in our first away game of last term and earned a creditable 1-1 draw with nine men after Gary Doherty was dismissed - later recinded - along with Gus Poyet.

Our first London Derby of the season falls on Tuesday August 27 against Charlton at the Valley, swiftly followed by a trip to Fulham and the visit of West Ham.

The first meeting with Arsenal is Saturday November 16 at Highbury, with the return being on Saturday December 14. In a change from recent years we travel to Old Trafford first to play Manchester United on September 21, while we face Liverpool at Anfield on October 26.

The home fixture against Chelsea is on Saturday November 2.
