Eric Dier has fifth place in his sights as we travel to Everton in our final Premier League match on Sunday.

Liverpool’s loss against Palace last weekend has left the door slightly ajar and we go into the league’s finale a point behind the Reds, who travel to Stoke.

Impressive at right-back and central defence in 27 appearances (24 starts) in his first season in the Premier League, Eric expects a competitive encounter at Goodison.

“Liverpool losing to Palace has opened the window for us a little to try to finish fifth so we’ll push for that and push for the win at Everton,” said Eric, this week named in England’s squad for the European U21 Finals.

“I’m sure they will want to finish on a high in front of their fans as well so even though it’s the last game of the season, there is still plenty on it.

“I was quite impressed by them at White Hart Lane in November. We did well to beat them that day and it will be difficult again. Both teams will want to do well.”
