Glenn Hoddle remains convinced that we can qualify for Europe via the Premiership.
Results have certainly gone our way in recent weeks. We can catch seventh-placed Aston Villa, who lost last night, we are six points behind Chelsea in sixth, who we play in the league next week and we can pull to within four points of fifth-placed Leeds with our game in hand.
We face the daunting test of a trip to Old Trafford tonight knowing that we can go ahead of Villa and into seventh with a win.
Glenn said: "A few results have gone our way over the last couple of weeks and we've picked up a vital win ourselves. That was important.
"There are still a lot of points to be played for.
"Old Trafford is a tough place to go but teams have won there and we're capable of that.
"We've got some hard games. I think we've seven away and four at home. It will be a tough run-in in that case but we will raise ourselves, go in with a lot belief and, hopefully, put out the strongest teams we can put out."
Glenn insisted Saturday's win against Sunderland has put us back on track after the disappointment of our Worthington Cup Final defeat.
"The points we won on Saturday have given us a lift," he said. "It's human nature to be disappointed after losing a cup final.
"That's happened and it's time to forget that and the best way to get that out of yours system is good results. We started that on Saturday."
