The draw for the UEFA Europa League Play-Off takes place at 12.30pm today (Friday) and we could find ourselves paired with any of the following teams over two legs.
Finished runners-up in the Turkish Super Lig last season and have former Spurs favourite Didier Zokora in their squad. Senol Gunes is the manager and they play at the Huseyin Avni Aker.
FC Karpaty Lviv (UKR)
Have never finished higher than third in the Ukrainian League and were fifth placed last season. Famed for being the only club to win the USSR Cup from the Soviet Union’s second tier back in 1969.
Need little introduction and would be the first Scottish opponents we have faced in European competition since we faced Aberdeen in the 1973-74 UEFA Cup. Paulo Sergio has recently taken over from Jim Jeffries as manager.
Legia Warsaw (POL)
One of the most successful clubs in Polish football history having won eight league titles and a record 14 Polish Cups – the latest of which came this year. However, this is the furthest they have been in Europe since 2006.
FK Ekranas (LTU)
Have six Lithuanian championship titles under their belt and are the current Lithuanian Cup holders, but they are yet to make it past the qualifying rounds of a major European tournament.
We are seeded in Group 3 of the draw alongside Spartak Moscow, Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Athletic Club Bilbao and POAK of Greece.
The other three English teams – Birmingham, Fulham and Stoke – as well as Rangers and Celtic, are also seeded for the draw in other groups.
