Kasey Keller suspects it will be a close call between England and France to triumph in Euro 2004.
Sunday's clash between the two certainly appears to have captured the imagination of the nation, but the USA international points out that there is not much to choose between most of the competing teams in Portugal
"I think there is a chance for England, but France have to be going in as one of the favourites," reasoned Kasey. "It will be close between them.
"The problem is with the European Championships is that there are really eight or nine teams who could win it if they get their act together at the right time.
"The Dutch, the Germans, Czech Republic - teams like that could do it. It is not like going into a World Cup where you might predict that Brazil will be in there, Germany will get to the final and lose, England will get to the later stages - it is just not as predictable.
"You look back to 92, Denmark sneak in when Yuguslavia get kicked out and win the tournament. There is a lot of great teams in there who can surprise a lot of people."
