'Eternally grateful'

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Long-serving John Pratt says he'll be 'eternally grateful' to Bill Nicholson.

A London Youth representative, Bill signed the midfielder in November 1965 and he progressed through the junior and reserve ranks at the Lane to make over 400 appearances for us in a career that spanned from 1969-1980.

A UEFA Cup and League Cup winner, John also spent time as reserve team coach between 1983-86.

"My immediate memories of Bill are probably the last time he dropped me!" joked John.

"He left me out a lot of times but he also picked me a number of times and the man had honesty and a love for this club.

"I'll always be eternally grateful to him because I could be sitting in an import and export business but he gave me the good fortune to come here and play with so many great players and with such a great club."
