Our Superleague Formula Racing Team will look to build on a second podium finish last time out when the all-new motor-racing series heads to Portugal this weekend.
Driver Duncan Tappy produced a fine display at Zolder to cut through the field to second place in the sixth race of the championship, lifting the team back up to sixth overall in the table. Beijing Guoan lead on 207 points.
Duncan returns to Estoril for the second time this year after an outing in the World Series and many of the Superleague Formula drivers have strong results there in the past. Liverpool's Adrian Valles scored his first World Series podium there in 2004 while Beijing Guoan's championship leader Davide Rigon and Olympiacos driver Kasper Andersen competed there in Formula Master in July.
Originally built in 1972, the 4.36km (2.709m) Estoril circuit hosted the Portuguese Formula 1 Grand Prix from 1984 to 1996 and was the scene of Ayrton Senna's first F1 victory in 1985. The circuit has hosted the Portuguese MotoGP since 2000 and has also played host to the DTM, FIA GT Championship and A1 Grand Prix championships.
With three Superleague Formula rounds remaining, Beijing Guoan leads the championship on 207 points followed by PSV Eindhoven (193); Liverpool FC (171); RSC Anderlecht (159); Sevilla FC (150); Tottenham Hotspur (149); FC Basel (146); AS Roma (143); FC Porto (138); AC Milan (126); Galatasaray (114); Rangers FC (112); Borussia Dortmund (108); Al Ain (103); Corinthians (97); Flamengo (96); Olympiacos (80) and Atletico de Madrid (64).
