A 2-0 half-time deficit left us with work to do at the Britannia Stadium last weekend, with Stoke adding a third goal later in the game following the dismissal of Vlad Chiriches for a second bookable offence shortly after the restart.
Ahead of Saturday’s last home match of the season against Hull City and next week’s final day trip to Everton, midfielder Christian admitted it was a disappointing day all-round in the Potteries and revealed how the players are determined to show their true colours when we next take to the field.
“Lots of things went wrong at Stoke,” conceded the Danish international. “Firstly, the chances we created weren't big enough and also the chances we gave them were too big.
“It’s not easy to go through that but in a way it’s easier to pick yourself up after a big loss because you want to show that you can do better. I think everyone wants to do that.
“We had a really off day against Stoke but we want to get back on track now against Hull. We’re a young team but everyone wants to prove that we can do better – and that we are better – than what we showed at the weekend.”
