“That win was important for us,” stated Erik after opening the scoring in the 2-1 victory at Vicarage Road, where Heung-Min Son grabbed a dramatic late winner.
“We managed the game well and created a lot of chances. I’m happy for Sonny, he’s a great guy and deserved that goal and I think we deserved the win as well.
“Two games, six points - we’re in a better position but we need to keep working and now think about the next game.”
That next game is at Everton on Sunday, January 3 and Erik will go into the New Year on the back of an impressive December.
The Argentine forward’s sheer work rate alone has caught the eye but add his first Spurs hat-trick (against Monaco on December 10) and his goal at Watford into the mix and he enters 2016 with eight goals already under his belt in all competitions this term.
“I can’t (don’t like to) speak about me but I’m feeling good,” he added. “I want to say thanks to my team-mates because they always help me. I’m happy here and I can do better.”
