Full-back Erik - out recently for six weeks after a nasty head knock at Everton - felt pain in his ankle and was forced off at half-time at Aston Villa on November 22.
He has been training this week though and stated: "I'm happy because I've tested my ankle for three days and I feel good. I feel I can do almost everything.
"Of course, I'm a little afraid of getting the feeling of pain back but it's certainly getting there."
The Swedish star has had to sit out our last three games - consecutive Barclays Premiership wins and clean sheets and the Carling Cup exit against Liverpool.
"After the six defeats we've had two wins and to get six points from those two games was fantastic," he added.
"We have important games against Manchester City and Southampton coming up and then it's Christmas and everyone knows what an important time that is."
