The young midfielder is in the senior England squad for the first time for friendlies against Spain and France.
The Three Lions kick-off against reigning European champions Spain in Alicante on Friday night (7.45pm) before taking on Hugo Lloris' French side at Wembley next Tuesday (November 17, 8pm).
A regular at youth levels, Eric, capped nine times for the Under-21s, has made a spectacular switch from his full-back and central defensive roles of last season to holding midfield this term.
Mauricio Pochettino made the change in pre-season and Eric has made such an impression and adapted with such ease that 16 games down the line, he's in the England squad.
"I’m really looking forward to it and it’s been a great week for me," said Eric after Sunday's 1-1 draw at Arsenal.
"Getting selected was great, I was very happy and very proud.
"Hopefully I can now take my Tottenham form into the next week.
"It’s huge for me – I don’t know if I’ll get the chance to make my debut but hopefully I’ll get that chance, take it and impress.
"There are a lot of good players in England and there are a lot of players who play in that central midfield position so it will be tough but I’m really looking forward to it and I’ll do as much as I can.
"It's every English player's dream to be there next summer (Euro 2016 finals in France) so I’ll be trying my best!"
