Posted on 10 January 2001  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

White Hart Lane is to host its first full international match for 51 years when it stages the prestigious friendly between England and Holland on August 15 2001, kick-off 8pm.

With Wembley facing demolition, England matches are to be spread around the top domestic stadiums as the quest to secure a place in the 2002 World Cup finals hots up.

New England coach Sven Goran Eriksson will be using friendly internationals to develop a winning formula ahead of the crunch return tie against Germany on September 1.

The last full international to be played at the Lane was a friendly against Italy in November 1949. The visit of the dazzling Dutch will be the fifth such game staged by the club.
