Sven Goran Eriksson has turned to the 23-year-old following the withdrawal of Sol Campbell.
Ledley has been in fine form in his new midfield anchor role. He's scored twice in his last three games and won praise from acting boss David Pleat all season.
That praise was echoed by Eriksson after this morning's call. He told the FA's official website: "Ledley is another good young player that we have. I have seen him play several times this season. He is strong and skilful and can play in many positions. It will be good to have him with us."
Ledley has two full caps to his name having made his full England debut against Italy in 2002.
Ledley King has been drafted into the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Portugal.
