Specialising in Science and Technology for Sport, Health and Engineering, the brand new learning environment, which opened its doors to students in September 2014, is based within Lilywhite House, part of the Club’s stadium redevelopment scheme.
Backed by Festo, Fusion, Middlesex University, Mindsets, National Instruments and Tottenham Hotspur, TUTC represents a great opportunity for 14 to 18-year-olds aiming for a career within fields such as sports science, product design and mechanical engineering.
To attend, just come along! TUTC is recruiting current Year 9 and 11 students with a view to becoming Year 10 and 12 students at the college from September.
Sponsors and special guests will be running a variety of tech, sport, health and engineering-based activities throughout the evening for prospective students and their parents or guardians to participate in.
From robots and mechatronics to computer programming and even table tennis – visitors will get a real sample of aspects of the TUTC curriculum.
Teaching staff and the Principal will be on-hand to explain how young people who choose to study at TUTC will be given unparalleled access to future employment and an opportunity to move on to University, further education, apprenticeships and work placements.
Speaking about her experience so far at TUTC, Head Girl, Daniella Jennings, 14, said: “It’s opened my mind – it was a crack in the door before, but TUTC has pushed that door wide open now.”
One of two elected Student Leaders, Miles Ash, 16, said: “It’s like a new start, no matter what your background is or what walk of life you are from. There are so many facilities and things to do in the school – the opportunities are endless.”
Deborah Ramm-Harpley, Principal of TUTC, said: “It’s been an exciting start to the first academic year at Tottenham UTC. Our students are enjoying their studies and making steady progress towards building a prosperous future for themselves.
“We’re hosting a number of open days throughout the rest of the year and are always available to meet with any students and their parents who are interested in finding out about the opportunities available to TUTC students – whether that’s going on to further education at a university or securing employment within some of the most exciting and rewarding industries.”
Doors open at 4.30pm on Thursday, March 5, at Tottenham UTC, Lilywhite House, 780 High Road, Tottenham, N17 0BX. For more information please visit www.tottenhamutc.co.uk, text TUTC to 88802 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
