GAMES PLAYED IN SEASON 2003/04: 19
I think the fact that he has played every game since joining says a lot about him. It shows the value we put on him, how we rate him and how we feel about him.
A wholehearted player, another one who takes knocks in training and always seems to be available for games. His is very tough character and has certainly given us that bite in midfield that we needed.
In parts of the season where Darren has been injured, or Jamie, to have him as an ever-present has been invaluable.
I think he will get better in time, he has found out how tough the Premiership is. If I look at his goalscoring record at Sheffield United it was absolutely great for a midfield player. Here, although he has got into threatening positions, he hasn't often looked like scoring like that.
This is about the league and how tough it is, plus the tough time we've had. He'll be better next season for the experience.
