It was frustrating for him in the end because, having had his injuries in the past, he was hoping to get through the season without any problems. He picked up a couple near the end that took a little bit of the momentum out of his game.
For us, it was just important to have our regular right back in the side and the big contribution that he makes. We are all aware of the quality he has and he certainly gives us another dimension going forward. It was good to have him back in regularly.
Is he a different type of player to a few seasons ago? I think it would be fair to say that he has found it difficult to reach the heights on a consistant level that he did at that time. Irrespective of any injuries, every player goes through that at some stage of his career.
When you have a wonderful season it is very hard to get to those heights again.
His contribution has been very big for us this season. Of course, he was given the captaincy and I know he was very honoured with that.
I think there is more to come from Stephen.
