Chris Hughton offers the last of his end of season views on the performances and progress of the first team squad...

MIDO
He was a big asset for us, with what we had up front. At times we needed a more physical presence and more of a threat in the air - he provided that.

His ratio of goals to games was good, particularly with the way we play. He was enthusiastic around the place, we knew he had some problems before he came here and we never experienced them.

If I look at what he gave us in the period of time he's been fit, it was of value to us.

LEE BARNARD
Lee had an exceptional reserve team season with the amount of goals he scored. He displays the value of persisting as Lee is not 17 or 18 years of age. In other circumstances a player of his type might not still be at the club because somebody else might have snapped him up or somebody like him might have demanded more games.

What he has done is knuckle down and work hard. Some of the credit must go to Clive who has worked really well with him - certainly on his finishing. Having signed a new contract this season, he deserves to be around the first team group - which is where he's been for the last month of the season or so.

He would be one who can't wait to get back here for pre-season to get amongst it and try to forge a position where he can be very much a first team squad regular.
