The midfielder’s comeback from a serious knee was effectively complete after stepping back into the engine room at Villa Park.

Sandro returned to action as a substitute against Swansea on August 25. Since then, he’s started four times in cup action and made another two appearances off the bench in the Premier League.

But ‘The Beast’ wanted to be back in the line-up in the Premier League - and he was outstanding as we completed a 2-0 victory on Sunday.

“This means everything to me because it was hard to be out of the Premier League,” said the Brazilian international.

“It was hard work (returning from injury), physical every day, tough times. Don’t make me cry! The Beast is not crying!

“I love to play in the Premier League and it’s a tough game, I like that. I feel so happy now.

“We have to continue to play like this, to keep winning. This was a very good win. It was a hard game and everyone was brilliant.

“It was a tough loss against West Ham but now we feel good again, and confident we can keep it going.”
