We this week welcomed a team from Old Palace Primary School, Bow, to White Hart Lane as part of their prize for winning the 2007 Tower Hamlets EBP’s Schools Dream Team Challenge.

A Year 6 group from the school claimed top spot in the Borough’s annual fantasy football-style competition, supported by News International. The ‘Old Palace Exterminators’ topped the league, beating 18 other primary school teams and one secondary school.

The awards were presented by two of our young professionals, Tommy Forecast and Jamie Davis.

Also enjoying the visit were runners-up ‘Young FC’ from Mowlem Primary School, Bethnal Green, and ‘Brick Lane United’ from Canon Barnett Primary School. ‘Super Star Stallions’ from Guardian Angels Primary School, Bow, voted the best named team, made up the quartet of schools invited.

All of the children were given a tour of the ground, including the dressing room, the Directors’ box and pitch side, where some were allowed to sit in the seat normally occupied by Juande Ramos. They also saw the Carling Cup trophy, on display at the stadium.

The Dream Team Challenge was organised by Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership.
