Michael Dawson is delighted for older brother Andy after watching him win promotion to the top flight with Hull City in Saturday's Championship Play-Off Final at Wembley.
It was a proud weekend for the Dawson family as the pair can now both look forward to plying their trade in the Barclays Premier League during the 2008/09 season.
Michael reveals it has been celebration time ever since Hull's 1-0 victory over Bristol City, but he is preparing himself for a bit of brotherly banter over the prospect of going head-to-head with Andy (pictured) on the pitch next season.
But as he recalls Saturday's events, ‘Daws' admits it was simply a case of wishing all the best for his brother as he performed in front of a large family contingent at Wembley.
Michael said: "The family came down on the Friday night and then we had a great day at Wembley on the Saturday. It was a great day for Andy.
"I was sat in the stands with my Mum, Dad and the rest of my family and I just wanted him to do well from his point of view.
"I've been in those sorts of situations before and you don't want to let anyone down, so I was chuffed for him after the game and what it meant for him.
"We had a celebration back at the hotel and now we look forward to next season.
"The banter hasn't started yet but I'm sure there will be some. Me and my two brothers are really close so we'll be looking out for each other's results next year.
"Fingers crossed that Hull can stay up and they have a good season, but Saturday was certainly a proud day for my family, and myself of course."
