61: The Spurs Double, the club’s acclaimed book commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Double, has won the prestigious ‘Best Illustrated Title’ award at the British Sports Book Awards 2011.

The 240 page book, which comes in its’ own collectors’ slipcase and is packed with evocative photographs, memorabilia and memories of the 61 Double and the team and manager who achieved it, picked up the trophy at a star-studded dinner at the Savoy Hotel last night, Monday May 9th – just three days after the 50th anniversary of the securing of the Double.

Tottenham Hotspur Head of Retail, Victoria Howarth, said: “It was brilliant for the book to win and it was well deserved of a book that was a perfect tribute to a group of men who were true pioneers and gentlemen of the beautiful game!”

The book, published for the club by Vision Sports Publishing, will now go into a vote alongside the award winners from other categories to find the Best Overall Sports Book. We will post details of how to vote for 61: The Spurs Double as soon as we have the details.

In the meantime, 61: The Spurs Double is available from the Spurs Mega Store and Spurs Shops, priced £30.
