Doc sustained his injury early in the Worthington Cup tie against Torquay on Thursday. Scans have not brought good news for our talented centre-half, who was forming a formidable barrier along with Goran and Ledley King.
The trio have now been splintered and the split worsened when Goran was caught in the face against Chelsea in a collision with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
“At the moment we look as if we’ve got to buy in all departments with the amount of injuries we’ve got,” reflected Glenn.
“It’s a concern, because if we pick up any more, and we’ve got games coming thick and fast, we’ll be putting the youth team out.
“Gary will be out for at least three or four months.”
“Goran looks as though he’s fractured his cheekbone in a freak incident. The bottom line is every time we go out we seem to get some sort of horrific injury.
“At the moment the rugs just being pulled away from our feet all the time from what we’re trying to build. We’ll have to battle on, we’ll pick the troops up for Wednesday, see who is fit and go up there and try and get the win.”
Gary Doherty and Goran Bunjevcevic face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after Glenn confirmed that Gary has broken his tibia and Goran has a suspected fractured cheekbone.
