The versatile Irish international has been out of action since feeling a knee problem in our reserve clash against Fulham earlier this month.
It wasn't a serious problem though, as 'Doc' explained: "It was only a little fluid building up below the knee which was getting a little uncomfortable.
"Now that's gone I've got to build the leg up again. I'm doing leg work every day now to build it up and make sure it doesn't become a recurring problem.
"I've seen a couple of specialists and they've said the knee is perfect and all I have to do is build the muscle up.
"It will take another week, 10 days of building the knee up before I'm training again. I've been running already though and it feels fine."
Gary Doherty aims to return to full training by the end of the month after a short spell on the sidelines.
