Livewire Francis Jeffers struck twice as the Gunners ran out 3-0 winners in the FA Premier Reserve League clash at Stevenage Borough FC.
It was always going to be an uphill struggle after Les Ferdinand was sent off following an incident with Arsenal's Stathis Tavlaradis after 22 minutes.
Our 10 men fought gamely and Sergei Rebrov hit the post at 0-0 but the visitors eventually beat the returning Neil Sullivan on the hour and added two more in the space of 60 seconds later on.
Boss Colin pondered: "We rode our luck a little in the first half, had one or two chances, but Neil Sullivan made some very good saves.
"In the second half although we persevered and got behind the ball, we never really had any opportunities and so when they did score, because we hadn't done anything going forward, that was it.
"We're all really disappointed it's ended up 3-0 and we can no way hold that down to the fact we only had 10 men. It was poor defensive positioning, communication and the goals could have been avoided.
"We'll have to take it on the chin and the lads have gone away bitterly disappointed with certain situations."
As for Les' red card, he added: "The two of them were together and the referee's given one player yellow and given Les the red, so were slightly aggrieved with that."
Colin Calderwood couldn't hide his disappointment after his reserve side were gunned down by Arsenal on Monday night.
