Digger's Diary

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

UNFORTUNATELY I'm out of the Middlesbrough game tomorrow because of a shin injury. I'm actually seeing a specialist tonight to clear up that it's just rest that it needs to get it right. It does feel better and I'm aiming to start training again in a week or so. I don't want to miss too much more of the season because it's been a nightmare for me already. I first started feeling it against Liverpool and I tried to nurse it through knowing that we had a break coming up. I hoped it would clear up in that time, it hasn't, but hopefully it won't be too long.
WE HAD a good few days in Dubai. The boys were all really close out there and it was exactly what we needed. It was a good chance to have a break but you have to keep fitness levels up and the boys had two very hard sessions out there. The point of the trip was to be together as a squad, to relax and have some warm-weather training in a new environment. The lads are back in fine fettle and looking forward to Middlesbrough.

TALKING about Dubai, Gary Doherty and Michael Brown were rooming together and they were at each other all the time. The lads were running down to the beach one day and Doc came out with a shout that Browny looked like David Hasselhoff from Baywatch. It was a great shout. We've tried to get it to stick but I don't think he likes it!
MIDDLESBROUGH were no doubt flying high after winning the Carling Cup but they were brought back down to earth when they lost at Birmingham last week. I'm sure they will be up for it and it will be a tough game. We'll be prepared for that. We've got to try to maintain our attacking performance but try to keep a clean sheet at the same time. The lads have worked hard on defending in training.
WE HAVEN'T played for over two weeks and you miss that buzz. The players can't wait to get out there again. We've 12 games left and we're all looking forward to finishing well.
All the best,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Simon
