Digger's Diary

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

THINGS are finally looking up on the injury front.
I started running this week, straight running on Monday and I've been doing ball work and twisting and turning since Tuesday. We decided to see if doing a bit of work would help strengthen it and now it's all about how it reacts. So far I've been pain free and I'll be able to continue building it up.
It's early but so far, so good. It was just great to be out there again and I can't wait to get back.
Of course, I've had one eye on Wales' Euro 2004 play-offs against Russia. Realistically, I'm sure I would have had to play a game. Arsenal is out of the question and then it's only a week until the game. I have to say I don't think I'll make it but I'm not ruling myself out totally yet - it depends how well this week goes. I'll then speak to the Welsh people and see what they want to do, they might want me to go down there.

The home game will be the biggest night in Welsh football for a very long time so I'll be there whatever. You never know, best-case scenario I might make the second game and score the goal that puts us through to the finals - that would be a dream! I don't know though. I don't want to think about it and let myself down.
WE HAVE tightened up and that was our biggest concern as a squad - we were letting in so many goals. We've now let in two in seven, so we've addressed that to a certain extent and now it's about getting the balance right, releasing players forward to score more goals. It's not easy and we're working hard in training.
We have key players out. Fredi is a big miss for us, he was on fire and nicking the goals for us. When you are tight and you've got someone like him up front you will win games. Christian has been unlucky and myself and Jamie have been out for a while and we're all determined to get back. Hopefully when we do, everyone will be fit and we'll have competition for places and that can only be good for us.
WHEN I think of Highbury I think red card! I so wanted to play there this season because I was harshly done by there last season when I got sent off. We've been tight and you have to be that against Arsenal, hopefully we can keep them frustrated and try to nick a goal.
All the best,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Simon
