Digger's Diary

Posted on 19 December 2003 - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

I PLAYED for an hour in a practice match earlier today. I felt a bit stiff afterwards but hopefully that will ease off in the next couple of days and there is another game on Monday. I was told by the specialist to expect that reaction anyway. It was great to be back out there.
IT WAS a nightmare to go out of the Carling Cup as we did on penalties against Middlesbrough on Wednesday night, especially as we'd have played Arsenal in the semi-finals. The lads played well, dug deep and when it went to penalties it just wasn't our night. From what I've seen the lads have picked themselves up and there is no better way to bounce back than preparing for a game against Manchester United.

UNITED are up there again this season without really playing at their best. They are just so clinical. There is always a chance at home though. I remember when I'd just started playing here that we beat them 3-1 on the last day of the season. That was a great result. Then there was the 5-3 and they beat us 2-0 last season. We're at home, we have to believe in ourselves and at the end of the day, we need the points.
RYAN GIGGS is a legend in the game. He's been unbelievable and one of the best Wales players ever. You are in awe of him sometimes and he's such an icon in Wales. I grew up watching him and when you first meet him you are not sure how to react but he settled me straight away, he was so polite and just wanted me to enjoy being with the national side. Hopefully he'll have an off day on Sunday.
All the best,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Simon
