Digger's Diary

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

I'M DELIGHTED to have got through the two games over Easter although the shin is still bothering me a little. The Everton game was a struggle and I didn't feel quite right. They are a very fit, physical side and I couldn't quite match that but I felt a lot better going into Monday and I thought we did well.

EVERTON was a tough game, we can obviously play a lot better and it was a disappointing night for everyone. I thought we bounced back well against City though. We were all down after Everton but we came out of that game much more positive, especially after going down 1-0 at half-time. The crowd weren't very happy and it was a difficult situation but we fought back well, Gus hit the post, Jermain scored and we always looked the bigger threat. Having said all that, we still need a win and Saturday's game at Bolton is massive.

GUS came back in for the City game on Monday and I've got to say that I've always loved playing with him ever since I first got into the team regularly and he first joined the club. He's so experienced, so helpful and a great player to play with. He gave us everything for as long as he could. It's nice to look across the park and see Gus Poyet is in the side.

WE ARE all aware of our situation in the table. We'd be stupid not to realise where we are. But we look at it and want a few wins from these last five games, not just one win. Everyone is talking about 40 points, we've got 38 and with five games left, we've got to be looking at the mid-40s by the end of the season. We're well capable of that. As long as we get as win early on to take any pressure off I'm sure we can finish well.

BOLTON will feel they are safe and we need to go there and fight. We have to go there with the right attitude, battle and let our ability should come through. We all know we are better than where we are in the table and that is the frustrating thing. It's all about scrapping at the moment. We did it when we needed to against Leeds, at Charlton when we started pushing up the table and now we have to do it again at Bolton.

I DIDN'T see the game at the Lane against Bolton although I've been told they were pretty impressive that day. They are a good mix. They some hard-working players and then players like Okocha and Djorkaeff, who also work hard to be fair, and they seem to have a good team spirit. The manager seems to have got it right there.

IT WOULD be ideal to get a decent result up at Bolton to go nice and positive into the Arsenal game. That is obviously the highlight of the end of the season and everyone will be up for it. Arsenal have been flying for the last three or four years but we've always done well against them, especially at home. We'll have every chance. I've never played in a home game against Arsenal so I'm really looking forward to it.

All the best,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Simon
