Digger's Diary

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

I'VE NEVER felt pain like I felt when I was injured playing for Wales against Scotlland on Wednesday night. I got clattered as I tried to take a shot and took a whack on my ankle. I've got to admit I was worried, especially when they took me to hospital. The medical staff said to me at the time it was only a precaution, but that's when it hits home that it could be serious. Thankfully the X-rays were all clear and I've been back at the club for treatment. It could have been a lot worse. On the bright side, I thought it was an excellent performance from Wales and a good way to bounce back after the disappointment of the play-offs.
IT'S BEEN a little while since I last wrote and you could say it's been an eventful couple of weeks! Portsmouth was edgy. I thought we were the better team throughout but you could see that edginess every time we went in front. It was great to come back with a win in the end. We needed that result.

WE THEN went to Charlton and that was a great win. I managed to score and that's probably the best I've felt in a game since I've come back from injury. I thought the first 60 minutes were excellent but when they scored to make it 3-1, I thought 'here we go again'. I couldn't believe it. But we learned from Manchester City. We tried to keep the shape of the team and there was a lot of talking out there between the players to tighten up. Jacko then scored a great goal and that took the pressure off. It was nice to be able to enjoy the last couple of minutes two goals in front having played well.
WE were buzzing back in the dressing room and we wanted to get the music going but I think we only had love songs, so we ended up turning it down!
AS EVERYONE knows, we've got Les, Freundy, Walks and Thatch coming back to Spurs with Leicester on Sunday. I saw Thatch for a couple of days with Wales last week and he's rung me again already, telling me how he's going to kick me, so I'll look forward to that. I'm sure they will all get great receptions and with those four involved, we know it will be a toug game. They will be up for it and Leicester are fighting for their lives.
WELL done to Ledley King. We all know he's pure quality, so strong and he will do well what ever level he plays at. He went in there Wednesday and played like he'd already won 20 caps, good luck to him.
All the best,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Simon
