Simon Davies has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension to his current agreement.
The influential midfielder put pen to paper this afternoon and joins Ledley King, Anthony Gardner, Gary Doherty and Johnnie Jackson in signing new contracts at the club.
The number of talented young players emerging was a key factor in Simon agreeing to a new deal.
"I am delighted," he reacted after completing the paperwork. "If we get through this season alright I think the club has a fantastic future. There are a lot of young players in the squad and I think it is looking bright.
"I'm sure when the club appoints a new manager things will pick up and we will get stronger. I wouldn't have signed if I didn't think that.
"The club is looking towards the future and I want to be part of it - putting this club back up where it belongs.
"I've been here four and a bit years now and after this I'll nearly be up for a testimonial! I am delighted to have got it signed."
