Kaboul is his country’s Under-21 captain and arrives at White Hart Lane with high praise from all those who have played against him, including our Ivory Coast midfielder.
Zokora crossed paths with our latest import during his time in the French leagues with St Etienne, and has already been impressed by his new team-mates after their first training sessions together.
The midfielder said: “I know Younes because I played in the French league at the same time as him. For me, he was the best young defender in France.
“The Premiership is the best league in the world, and even though Younes is very young and has only played a handful of games, he’s very confident.
“He’s a big, strong guy, as well as being a good player, which I’ve noticed in training. I played against him for St Etienne as well, and his technique is very good.
“I speak a bit of English as well as French, so if Younes can do so as well, that will be good for the team. It’s very important that he learns quickly so it makes things easier on the pitch.”
