Didier Zokora believes victory over West Ham on Sunday will help the confidence flow back into the team after two straight defeats. The Ivory Coast international has stressed the importance of not losing another game against our London rivals after recent reverses against Birmingham and PSV Eindhoven.

And Didier is hopeful that once we get back to winning ways, next week’s UEFA Cup Round of 16 second leg clash with the Dutch side will seem a lot easier.

He said: “We were all happy after winning the Carling Cup but now we’ve lost two games in a row and it’s difficult.

“Now we’ve got to focus on West Ham because it’s a big challenge and a match between two London teams, and if we win it will give us confidence for the second leg against PSV.

“We all want to beat West Ham because nobody wants to lose three games in a row. The confidence will grow if we win.”

And Didier is relishing a London derby against the Hammers, especially after last season’s memorable 4-3 success at Upton Park.

He added: “I love playing for Spurs and living in London and I know how big a game it is when the two teams meet.

“The game that finished 4-3 last year sums up why I love playing in the Premier League and everyone enjoyed the game.”
