The midfielder was laid low on the morning of the UEFA Cup group stage opener against Besiktas and was later admitted to hospital with a mild case of malaria.
He subsequently missed out on the games with West Ham, MK Dons and Watford, but now hopes to be in contention to play in our forthcoming busy period which features Club Brugge in the UEFA Cup, Chelsea in the Premiership and Port Vale in the Carling Cup.
"I am very good now and want to play soon," said the Ivory Coast international. "I don't like missing games because football is my passion and I am back training with the group, no problem."
Didier Zokora is back in full training with the squad after missing four games through illness.
