The Ivory Coast international will link up with his new teammates later in the month, but he has already been tracking the fortunes of the side and feels the Premiership environment is suited to his style.
"I know the club has a lot of top players and has had many in the past," said the 25-year-old who formerly played for FC Genk in Belgium. "I remember David Ginola when he was here, while I have seen a few matches already and Ledley King, for example is a really good player and the club is only going to get stronger.
"When you talk about the top leagues you are talking about the Premiership, La Liga and the Bundesliga as well. It is a dream for every kid to come and play in England. I have got friends here too - Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue and Didier Drogba, of course - and I am just pleased to be coming over here.
"There is a commitment in the style of play in the English game and that is also something that attracted me. I like it and I think it will suit me. The fans are fantastic and I am sure I will really enjoy it here."
Didier Zokora believes he will quickly adapt to the demands of English football following his transfer from St Etienne.
