Chris Hughton is looking for a quickfire response from the lads against Newcastle on New Year's Eve after last night's loss at West Brom.

Kanu punished two mistakes with a goal in each half to condemn us to a 2-0 Premiership defeat at the Hawthorns.

Coach Chris is now a looking for a similar response to our other two Premiership reverses this season - we went on a seven-match unbeaten run in the league after losing to Chelsea in August and were six without defeat after losing at Bolton in November before last night's defeat.

"It was an unfamiliar feeling last night and certainly a feeling that hurt everyone," he said.

We've been able to bounce back throughout and we face big opponents on Saturday

"After every indifferent performance or defeat this season the players have rallied around and focused on getting a result in the next game. We don't have to wait too long to do that again.

"One thing we're guaranteed is a full house and passionate crowd but we all realise we have to play well enough to warrant the applause we've received from the fans all season.

"It's a huge game for us and possibly just the type of game we need after West Brom."
