The central defender believes both teams will go all-out for the win at Stamford Bridge.
“Both teams will want to win, it’s a game we’ve been looking forward to and we’ll certainly be going there to win,” said Michael.
“We’ll have to earn it. We’ll go there full of confidence and hopefully get the three points.”
He was delighted to keep a clean sheet in a tough encounter against the Saints at the Lane, won by another fantastic strike from Gareth Bale just four minutes from time.
“We knew it was going to be tough and we needed to be patient and calm,” said Michael.
“Southampton are a top team, they kept the ball, passed it and we struggled to deal with it at times.
“We worked our socks off from back to front, it was hard work but we got there in the end. Gareth produced that bit of magic again.
“This time of the season it’s about sticking together as a group and winning matches. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how you do it this time of the season. Of course, we want to play well every week but it doesn’t always happen.”
