Glenn Hoddle has reiterated his belief that the amount of derbies makes it harder for London teams to achieve success.
We have played 10 London derbies already this season and now face another four in a month to make an incredible total of 14 this season.
Charlton, unbeaten in capital clashes this season, provide the latest London test in a televised encounter at the Lane on Monday night.
Fulham, Arsenal and West Ham follow in the coming weeks. "It makes it tough," insisted Glenn. "It's always been said that London derbies are a little different and to play so many of them is a big test.
"Both sets of supporters get up for them, there is a lot of rivalry, an intensity and it makes it harder to achieve things in the Premiership, that's for sure.
"If you've only two derbies a season it's a bit different from 14.
"It's a difficult task and one that goes against London clubs to a certain degree."
