Delight at last for Davies

Posted on 10 December 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

It's so far, so good for Simon Davies - he admits he's delighted to be 'back out there with the boys' as he makes his first steps back after injury.

The midfielder has been out with a hip complaint since playing and scoring for Wales against Finland in September - indeed, his last game for Spurs against Fulham back on August 30.

Wales and Spurs Player of the Year in 2002, Simon returned to training on Monday after seeing a hip specialist last week.

"I started training on Monday and it's great to be back out there with the boys," said Simon. "It's a case of getting fit now and hopefully in three or four weeks I'll be there or there-abouts.

"At the moment, it's okay. If it felt worse straight away it might be a problem but I've knocked it a few times and although I've felt it, it doesn't feel any worse. It's great to be back in training."

Simon talks more about his visit to the hip specialist and Wales' World Cup qualifying draw in this week's Digger's Diary...
