Fresh from making his Premier League debut at Old Trafford, the all-action central midfielder is excited by the prospect of his first home game in our colours as we prepare to face Stoke City on Saturday.
Naturally hungry for more top flight action after our narrow reverse against Manchester United, the former MK Dons man says he’s eager to run out at our world-famous stadium – but knows he’ll have to continue his hard graft on the training pitches if he’s to get that opportunity.
“I can’t wait for my first home game!” beamed the 19-year-old. “It will be amazing to experience the atmosphere created by all the Tottenham fans – obviously they were great at Old Trafford last week but I’m really excited to finally go out and play at home with everyone right behind the team.
“I’ve been to a few games at White Hart Lane before to watch matches, but it’d be amazing to play there.
“It’s up to the gaffer if I play or not, but I’ll be working as hard as I can on and off the pitch so that if he calls upon me I’m ready.”
Whether or not he’s involved on Saturday, Dele says the players are determined to set the record straight after home and away defeats to Mark Hughes’ men last season.
“A couple of the boys have spoken about the previous results against Stoke so we want to make that right this weekend,” he added.
“We’ll take each game as it comes and we’re going to work hard, put our all into it and do as well as we can.”
